014 - DJ ᴷⁱᵒ

Hualien, Taiwan

For this month's Ginene Radio mix, we take a musical journey to Taiwan's East Coast city, Hualien with DJ ᴷⁱᵒ. This hour-long episode traces a subtle arc from organic, deconstructed rhythms to thick drum tones punching through open structures and suspended transitions, moving from eager, free exploration to stable loops that balance trance, clarity, light, shadow and echo. Expect psychedelic experimentation where music is heard by the body, holding steady flow between logic, feeling and the Pacific's endless drift.

DJ ᴷⁱᵒ is a conductor of liminal space. Rooted in an improvisational dancer's body with club blood running through the veins. Based on Taiwan's East Coast, Hualien, by the Pacific Ocean, ᴷⁱᵒ moves through different spaces with "Don't Fun Squad," playing at parties and temporary events. The side focus: sharing high quality music and creating a space people can feel together. The main focus: something simple, bringing people together, to move, to pass through and dance.

013 - B E N N

Taipei, Taiwan

For our 13th episode of Ginene Radio, we link up with B E N N, Taipei-based DJ, producer and visionary behind the label Over My Body, whose creative core revolves around the alchemy of rhythm, ritual and abstraction. This mix is rooted in his sonic language of physicality and transformation: pushing African, Latin and Middle Eastern percussive traditions to their limits, colliding them with icy, deconstructed club forms to generate explosive kinetic tension.

B E N N is a Taipei-based producer, DJ and founder of the label Over My Body, operating at the intersection of rhythm, ritual and abstraction. For the past years he has been an active force in the international electronic scene, releasing solo EPs, singles and remixes across global imprints, while appearing on media such as Mixmag Asia, Ma3azef and Blaq Lyte (Bangkok). His recent works, including "Chaos and Order," expand on ritualistic rhythm and digital decay - tracing the friction between chaos and structure, disintegration and transcendence. His track "Hilarious" was nominated for Best Electronic Single at the 2026 Golden Indie Music Awards (GIMA) in Taiwan.

012 - Lorboo

Philadelphia, USA

For our March episode, we dive into the pulsating Philadelphia underground curated by Lorboo, the North Baltimore-born non-binary multidisciplinary artist dominating the scene as visionary behind the booming queer event series Sub Zero. Lorboo's mix crafts kaleidoscopic soundscapes that fuse nostalgic heat with high-energy club propulsion. Expect seamless clashes like El Pseudo into Booty Carell, tribal tech ruptures and ritualistic Baltimore bounce - a dynamic journey where every pivot keeps the groove locked and dancefloors alive.

Hailing from North Baltimore, Lorboo is a non-binary multidisciplinary artist who has become a dynamic force in Philadelphia's vibrant underground scene. As the visionary behind Sub Zero, a booming queer event series, Lorboo has firmly established themselves as a curator of experimental experiences. Their eclectic influences span dubstep, grime, techno, Baltimore club, house and jungle, allowing them to craft unique soundscapes that resonate deeply with diverse audiences.

011 - MAKOSSIRI

Berlin, Germany

It's Black History Month and for this episode of Ginene Radio Monthly Mixes, we shine a spotlight on our label founder, DJ, producer, musician and Afrofuture Tech pioneer Makossiri. Taking us through a gritty, fast-paced journey, the mix traces a path from ancestral Balani polyrhythms into industrial techno kinetic pressure, dissolving into diasporic futurism and landing into relentless, club-rooted movement with gritty noise textures. Embodied. Intentional. Built for the dancefloor.

Kenyan-born, Berlin-based, MAKOSSIRI crafts club music that defies genre limitations, fusing hardcore and industrial techno, gritty noise, trance, folk-punk, experimental club sounds and Global South polyrhythms with cinematic, otherworldly textures inspired by Afrofuturism and Egyptian mythology. Her EPs Juicy Juicy (Hakuna Kulala) and Pepea (Ginene Records) showcase her avant-garde Afrofuture-tech sound. Founder of Ginene Records and instrument designer of the Nyandungu, a 12-stringed African traditional hybrid instrument, she was named "the future of clubbing" by Pan African Music (PAM) and reached the Top 10 in AIAIAI's Future of Sound x Trackgirl initiative.

010 - EVEHIVE

São Paulo, Brazil

Starting 2026 on a high note from São Paulo, Ginene Radio presents EVEHIVE with a charged DJ set that showcases his current sonic research, a vibrant fusion of original productions and Latin-flavored club sounds. Blending bass, tribal, vogue beat, funk and techno, he crafts a distinctive mix that radiates dance floor energy. Rich with groove, texture and impactful sounds, this set channels the spirit of South America's global underground.

Eve Tavares, born in São Gonçalo (RJ), is the creative mind behind the EVEHIVE project. A prominent music producer and DJ within the electronic music scene and the Ballroom community, his journey as a transmasculine artist has brought both challenges and triumphs, earning recognition as one of Mixmag's "Top 25 Breakthrough DJs of 2024." Guided by versatile musical research rooted in peripheral and Afro-diasporic rhythms, Eve has performed at major festivals and venues across Europe and Africa, including a historic Boiler Room x Ballantine's event in Johannesburg. Based in São Paulo, he curates events such as Back2Back and Global Kunt and the EVEHIVE JAM radio program on Veneno.live.

009 - TASHASAN

Singapore

For our last episode of the year, Ginene Radio ventures into the bass-rich world of TASHASAN, a Singapore-born DJ and cultural force known for crafting "socially responsible, conscious booty bass tunes." With a deep roots connection to South and Southeast Asia, her sound is a vibrant blend of leftfield bass, breaks, dubstep, juke and dubby textures, all propelled by deep bass grooves. This mix weaves through gqom's hypnotic swing, leftfield percussion and gritty low-end textures - dark, groovy and a little rough around the edges, just the way she likes it.

Singapore-born and bred, Natasha Hassan, also known as TASHASAN, began as an illustrator and promoter before transitioning to DJing. Her sound blends leftfield bass, breaks, dubstep and percussive rhythms, occasionally touching on juke and dubby textures. A staple in Singapore's underground, she has played venues and events including Tuff Club, Headquarters, Offtrack, RASA and Boiler Room, and is co-founder of North East Social Club and Huru-Hara. She played a key role in bringing London's cult platform Keep Hush to Singapore for the first time, and has recorded guest mixes for Radio 80000 (Resident Advisor's Mix of the Day), Operator Radio, RRFM, Noods Radio and more.

008 - DJ Shahmaran

Rotterdam, Netherlands

For our latest Ginene Radio edition, we journey into dynamic soundscapes crafted by DJ Shahmaran, a Rotterdam-based artist known for blending glitchy, gritty club cuts with deep emotional intensity. Drawing from bass-heavy and percussive rhythms, Shahmaran's mix offers a vibrant fusion of drum and bass, dubstep and the wider bass continuum. The set takes listeners on a compelling journey featuring rapid percussion, atmospheric passages and ritualistic drums - a reflection of both disillusionment and resilience.

Rotterdam-based DJ Shahmaran has been causing a commotion over the past years, merging glitchy and gritty club cuts with emotional intensity. Known for bass-heavy sounds and percussive rhythms, DJ Shahmaran has steadily been throwing unexpected twists and turns on dancefloors in the Netherlands and beyond.

For our latest Ginene Radio edition, we journey into dynamic soundscapes crafted by twofold. Drawing from bass-heavy and percussive rhythms, the mix offers a vibrant fusion of drum and bass, dubstep and the wider bass continuum, taking listeners on a compelling journey of rapid percussion, atmospheric passages and ritualistic drums.

006 - Dan3u

São Carlos, Brazil

For our September episode of Ginene Radio, we dive into the vibrant queer scene of São Carlos with Dan3u as our guide. While his broader practice spans hard techno, Latin music, ghetto club and deconstructed club, this set hones in on the raw, percussive energy of Chicago footwork and Jersey club, layered with Latin influences. The mix unfolds as a dense, unpredictable journey - an unapologetic celebration of identity, community and the fearless pulse of São Carlos' queer nightlife.

Daniel Souto, also known as Dan3u, has been an active DJ and cultural producer since 2018. In 2022, together with friends, he founded the 220 collective to give a stage to queer alternative artists from the Brazilian countryside, becoming its resident DJ and gaining prominence in the region's alternative and electronic scene. His musical research focuses on the intersection of hard techno, Latin music styles, ghetto club and deconstructed club.

005 - WILHELMINA

Edison, New Jersey, USA

For our 5th edition, Ginene Radio heads to Edison, New Jersey, diving deep into the sonic universe of WILHELMINA. Known for pushing the boundaries of club music, Wilhelmina fuses Jersey club, hard drum, gqom and techno with his Filipino heritage influences to create sounds that are as enchanting as they are energizing. From rumbling drums to hypnotic vocals, the mix celebrates innovation, community and the incredible evolution of East Coast club music.

New Jersey native WILHELMINA crafts a sultry, kinetic and percussion-forward take on east-coast club music. He pushes its boundaries by welding together the grooves and elements of Jersey club, hard drum, gqom and techno with unique references to his Filipino heritage. His sound is distinguished by rumbling drums, mysticism, disembodied vocals and the infectious energy of club music. WILHELMINA's original productions and remixes have resonated globally, played at festivals, radios, clubs and underground events.

004 - Willillah

Beirut, Lebanon

For this July episode, Ginene Radio presents Willillah straight from Beirut's HighHats Community. Her uncompromising vision carves a path through breaks, bass, drum & bass, hardcore and breakcore.

Willillah is a Lebanese DJ, producer and co-founder of Beirut's HighHats Community, known for genre-defying sets that span breaks, bass, drum & bass, hardcore and breakcore. Her style is fast, raw and uncompromising, moving between groove and chaos with ease. With releases on global underground labels including HHC, Synthwave Records, Glanz + Elend, Aux Records, Ekstasis and Disorder, Willillah continues to shape her own path and community through high-intensity sound and radical experimentation.

003 - Coco Kahi

Nairobi, Kenya

This week, Ginene Radio journeys to Nairobi's electric underground scene with Coco Kahi, where global beats collide with Afro-rooted rhythms, experimental club sounds and beautiful African vocals. Expect a bass-charged journey pulsing with Nairobi's raw underground spirit, where seismic low-end, restless rhythms, fearless experimentation and afro-club sounds collide to keep the city moving all night long.

Coco Kahi is a Nairobi-based DJ, producer and storyteller known for her genre-bending sets where global beats meet Afro roots and high-energy club sounds. Blending Afro-electronic rhythms with experimental layers of drum & bass, garage, techno, dubstep, gqom, hip hop, afro-house, amapiano and baile funk, she delivers dynamic sets fueled by original productions, heavy edits and bold transitions. Nicknamed the 'Energy Bunny' for her electrifying stage presence, Coco Kahi ignites dancefloors with a signature sound that unites cultures and defies genres.

002 - She Spells Doom

Lusaka, Zambia

For the 2nd episode of Ginene Radio, we tune into the pulse of Lusaka with She Spells Doom, bringing a set packed with original productions, exclusive edits and the unmistakable drive of heavy percussive drums, direct from the heart of Zambia's capital.

SHE Spells Doom is an experimental electronic music project created by Zambian producer Wamya Tembo. It draws on influences such as 80s Sci-Fi/Horror movies, (Congolese) Rhumba/Soukous, Gqom and early 2000s rap production, mixed with House and Techno elements picked up while living in Geneva, Switzerland. His style is hazy but driving - combining airy synth-lines with heavy drum programming. He has released music on labels such as All Centre, Tresor, Egregore Collective, Club Djembe, Sweat Equity, GODDEZZ, HTS and Basy Tropikalne.
