Makossiri DJing

Described by Pan African Music (PAM) as “the future of clubbing” and selected among the top ten producers in AIAIAI’s x Trakgirl Future of Sound initiative, Makossiri crafts club music that defies genre limitations - fusing hardcore and industrial techno, gritty noise, trance, folk-punk, experimental club sounds and Global South polyrhythms with cinematic, otherworldly textures inspired by Afro-Futurism and Egyptian mythology.

Her EPs Juicy Juicy (Hakuna Kulala) and Pepea (Ginene Records) showcase this avant-garde afrofuture-tech sound - chaotic yet infectious, pushing post-club energy into new sonic dimensions on the dancefloor.

Founder of Ginene Records, an indie label dedicated to showcasing electronic and experimental sounds from around the globe, she is also an instrument designer with the Nyandungu, a 12-stringed African traditional hybrid instrument. Makossiri has performed on stages across Europe - including CTM Festival (Germany), Festival Z (Switzerland) and Norberg Festival (Sweden) - and underground clubs like Tresor, RSO, Club OST, Cave 12 and Worm Rotterdam.

Named “the future of clubbing” by Pan African Music (PAM) and a top-10 pick in AIAIAI’s Future of Sound x Trackgirl initiative, Makossiri redefines electronic music’s global narrative.
